Greek Orthodox Church of Our Savior, Rye, NY

Photos by John Thomas of John Thomas Photography

John Thomas very intimately depicted the depth of the Holy Week in the Orthodox Christian Church from the perspective of a parishioner spiritually and emotionally involved in the daily services. Each day of Holy Week captures both the community's prayerful participation and the spirituality of each service as experienced by the faithful worldwide. As an Orthodox Christian, John was humbled and grateful to share this inspirational journey as captured through his artistic God-given gift.

In 2005, John very generously offered his photos to complement the pages of the Great Lent, Holy Week, and Pascha website for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. In memory of John's passing in December of 2014 and of his generosity and love for the Church, we are pleased to feature some of John's photos in a larger format in the gallery below.

May John's memory be eternal!
